Pharmanex® Scientist Contributes to Nutritional Science Body of Knowledge
Pharmanex® scientist Dr. Angela Mastaloudis, Ph.D. recently published two chapters in separate books on nutritional and health-related topics. The first, "Vitamin E" was published in a graduate-degree level textbook entitled Sports Nutrition: Vitamins and Trace Elements. The second chapter, entitled "Vitamins C and E in the Prevention of Oxidative Stress, Inflammation and Fatigue from Exhaustive Exercise" was published in Nutrient Composition of Rations for Short-Term, High-Intensity Combat Operations. This latter publication was edited by the Institute of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Angela Mastaloudis is one of 100+ in-house Pharmanex® scientists contributing to the entirety of the scientific evidence that supports nutritional supplementation. Dr. Angela Mastaloudis followed up her Masters in nutrition science with her Doctorate in exercise physiology from Oregon State University in 2004. After completing her graduate studies, Dr. Mastaloudis joined the Pharmanex team. She specializes in antioxidants and oxidative stress and is passionate about nutrition and physical activity and their impact on wellness, quality of life and prevention of chronic disease. Through her research with the Linus Pauling Institute, and through continuous research, Dr. Mastaloudis has become an expert on vitamins E and C and has been extensively published in "Free Radical Biology and Medicine," as well as other scholarly publications. Dr. Mastaloudis is affiliated with the American Society for Clinical Nutrition, the Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine. In her role at Pharmanex®, she is involved in a variety of R&D projects related to general and antioxidant nutrition.
