Recent Study on Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Study Shows Omega-3 Fatty Acids may Reduce Neck and Back Discomfort

A study published in the April issue of Surgical Neurology (Vol. 65, pp. 326-331) found that Omega-3 fatty acids may offer promising results for pain sufferers. Researchers provided 125 individuals who complained of back discomfort a supplement of 2400mg omega-3 fatty acids. Study participants were asked to complete a survey after one month.

The study results were impressive; Sixty percent of the surveyed participants reported an overall reduction in discomfort, while 80 percent stated they had improved in some way and were satisfied with their improvement. Eighty-eight percent stated they would continue to take the omega-3 essential fatty acids after participating in this study.
